Expanded Carrying Capacity for Your RV

etrailer cargo carrier

No matter how big your RV is you'll likely have gear you'd prefer not to store inside. This carrier lets you transport generators and fuel cans, so your storage compartments don't smell like gas. You can also strap coolers, luggage, and other bulky objects on it to free up space inside your RV. Lastly, it's great for carrying wet, dirty, or smelly items outside of the RV, keeping your interior clean and odor free. It has raised side rails that help prevent your gear from sliding off and provide multiple anchor points for a cargo net, bungee straps, or other tie-downs (sold separately).

Bumper Mount, Folding Design

etrailer cargo carrier

Most RVs don't have a hitch installed, and adding one just to carry extra gear isn't always ideal. This cargo carrier mounts directly to your 4" x 4" or 4-1/2" x 4" RV bumper, so you can haul generators, coolers, and other bulky items without modifying your setup.

etrailer cargo carrier

When you're not carrying gear, the carrier folds up against the back of your RV. Remove the snapper pins from each arm assembly, raise the rack toward the vehicle, and reinsert the pins through the upper holes in the mounting brackets. It stays tucked up when parked at a campsite, near a fence, or inside tighter storage spaces.

Easy Installation

etrailer cargo carrier

The carrier is easy to install. Just slide the mounting brackets over your RV's bumper, spacing them 17-5/8" apart (inside edge to inside edge), and secure them with the included M10 hex bolts. Attach the main arm assemblies to the mounting brackets with the included M16 hex bolts. Attach the basket to the main arm assemblies with the included M8 carriage bolts. The included support brackets mount to most RV frames to reinforce your bumper and prevent metal fatigue that can cause your bumper to detach.

Excellent tracking!

by:

Excellent service, order shipped within one day. High quality bumper cargo rack for our travel trailer. Excellent packaging and the hardware was put together so no second guessing when installing. Would definitely recommend this product.

by:

I’ve had this cargo carrier for over a year. It has held up wonderfully! I travel from GA to MN every summer carrying a generator on the cargo trailer. No issues, no bends, no rust! Worth every penny!

by:

Overall I think this a good rack I wanted it for the weight capacity and the size. The mounting brackets and arms are good quality. The basket/rack is a little thinner material so during assembly it will bend if your using an electric impact. The instructions aren’t very detailed but if your pretty handy with tools and drawings it’s easily doable. Due to my rear ladder for roof access I won’t be able to fold the rack in the upright position, but for my needs this won’t affect me . We had no missing parts which is a huge plus! I intend to haul my generator and two totes and this rack will do the job.

by:

We love this carrier! We use it to carry a "truck tool box" for all our camper cords, water hoses, camper jacks, and all kinds of good stuff. We couldn't be happier with this cargo carrier! Its been life changing for our camping experience!

by:

Contacted Rep Sarah with information about damaged parts with no response. Also the natural force of the rack to pull out and down may be properly strengthened with a beam reinforcing adapter that completely wraps the bumper and secured to the frame.

by:

Perfect! It did exactly what I needed it to do! And installation was a breeze!

by:

Awesome product. Easy to install. Instructions very good.

by:

I just got what they said “was delivered” 24 x 84 rack for the back of my camper. I got one piece when they said it’s all delivered. I ordered the spare tire wench and they sent me two and no handle at this point. I’m really aggravated.

by:

This is a very well built rack. Assembly was easy and all the parts fit together correctly. It fit right on to the 4 inch bumper properly. We have used it twice so far and it is easy to put up into the storage position when not needed. I did add one of the tailgate strip LED lights to the rear of the rack to increase visibility when I have something larger on the rack that might hide my RV tail lights. Very satisfied with this rack.

by:

Great rack. I loaded (2) Honda 3000 Generators and a 28" wide trunk full of tools and a hydrolic jack on it and drove from San Diego to Idaho without a problem.

The only issue I have, and that is why I only gave it 4 stars, is that the back of the rack sits too close to the back of my trailer and I can't fold it up to the verticle position when not in use. Needs about another 1 to 1.5 inches of space between the rack and back of trailer.

by:

It was a pleasure working with Joanne and etrailer. I will be ordering from you again

by:

Easy install and cargo carrier is very sturdy

by:

When I received this rack I originally mounted it on the trailer with the full width (all three pieces). I haven’t figured out a better way to carry my spare tire for the trailer and the rack and tire carrier conflict with each other for mounting purposes. I decided to remove the center section of the rack which makes the rack 61-1/2” wide and allows keeping the spare tire carrier mounted. The picture shows the current configuration. I am able to carry a 3500 watt generator and 4 folding chairs on this configuration which frees up more room in the back of my truck. I was hoping to be able to keep the generator on the rack while running but there is too much vibration in the trailer for that to work. I don’t think putting isolators on the mounting brackets would quiet the vibration enough for that to work so I still have to unload the genny before I run it but it’s easier taking the genny on and off this rack instead of my truck bed. The rack is well made and heavy duty enough for my purposes. After one year no negative issues have occurred.

by:

It is great, easy to mount and sturdy. Takes care of all our diesel cans, wood storage boxes and if needed our generator.

Still really good. Sturdy

by:

Thank you for the fast delivery. I did not expect two packages I thought the bumper rack 24x84 would be in one package

by:

Bumper Rack appears to be well made.
Directions
would have been nice for ensuring proper assembly.
Otherwise would have given 5stars for quality of product.

by:

The rack is of great quality and heavy. Welds look good and rack was in good shape cosmetically. Doesn’t flex at all like the single point hitch installed carriers. Also there is more ground clearance since the rack sits above the bumper. Make sure you have a beefy bumper that can handle the weight as the extended rack is probably close to 80lbs assembled. etrailer was phenomenal, as always. Ordered on the Tuesday before Xmas and received on Thursday. There isn’t a better online retailer. Only bummer is that sales tax is being collected for Texas now.

The rack has been invaluable over the past year. Great option for those, like me, that have no storage space in truck bed 5th wheel but need to haul firewood, coolers, bikes, etc. The only con identified after a year of use is the coating. The rack is painted, instead of powdercoated which has resulted in it easily scratching and fading. The scratches quickly rust if not hit with some spray paint occasionally.

I love the cargo rack it sure helps us when we are able to get on the road with our camper

Love to hear it Damone! We appreciate you choosing etrailer!

by:

Bought this for our 24’ travel trailer and it is awesome! Took a little bit of adjusting with addition of washers in certain spots to get the holes for the pins (used to lock up or down) to align properly. We did have the bumper reinforced before putting this on to ensure it could support any weight we might put on it.

Glad it's still working well for you, Don! Definitely a good idea getting your bumper reinforced as well. What are you typically carrying on it?

by:

I added this rack to hold a spare tire, bikes, and a generator. I placed it on a Bigfoot camper which has a steel bumper welded to a full tube frame. I couldn’t see the need to add the support brackets and it would have been difficult to access. I’m not sure if I could have bought it without the support brackets. I had to remove the decorative aluminum bumper cover before installing the rack. It contacts my ladder before it locks into the folded upright position but that is acceptable to me since I would only fold it up to save space in storage. The tail light kit is a must If the cargo on the rack will block your lights. You may also need to add an illuminated tag holder if your plates will be blocked. This can wire in with the light kit.

by:

This carrier is incredible. I didn't think anyone built things this well anymore. I didn't want my bikes flopping around as we went down the road. Mission accomplished. The only issue i had with installation was the 2 brackets supplied to enhance the strength of the bumper. My installation was on tubular steel, and instructed to drill holes and use supplied thread cutting bolts. Except the bolts supplied were not thread cutting.
I bought some longer bolts and drilled thru both sides of the frame. Very secure. The rest of the installation was very easy and the unit is solid.

by:

This is the solution! After having “add a hitch” systems break and bend trying to carry e-bikes finally a solution! I carry two tires, a generator and a folded e-bike. Perfectly balances the weight across the entire bumper at three brackets. 10,000 miles so far, love it more every time.

by:

Wow big and heavy!!! Make sure you read the product weight so you have some help with it So it seems quite sturdy and assembles pretty well- DO NOT TIGHT BOLTS. When you assemble this do start with the 3 bumper brackets snug not tight. Attach the center piece next- snug not tight. Then attach the 2 ends- again loosely. Once you are certain it’s lined up and all the bolt and pins fit start over and tighten brackets and all bolts- other wise you face the challenge of holes not lining up!!! My mistake I got carried away with assembly and didn’t slow down and had to go back loosen and re-tighten. We had a bumper hitch basket but it was a little small for our needs and wobbly of course. This one is quite large and will hold everything and room for more. I love the fold up idea except I have a rear ladder but I don’t really have a need to fold it. After next long trip I will update if there is anything. I haven’t had a bad deal from etrailer yet so it should become a 5 star. I definitely recommend lights and or reflectors for it though!!!!

by:

Cargo Carrier works great. I have been over 7000 miles with it carrying coolers and a generator haven't had any problems at all. It frees up alot of space in the truck bed. I like that it folds up when not in use.

  • Can Yakima EXO System Install on RV
Hi Dan; I believe Yakima actually has tested this which is why they specifically state in their EXO guidelines "EXO is NOT suitable for RV" under their warnings. As great as it would be to use it you wouldn't want to find that you lost part of the # Y44ZR on the road somewhere along the way. You will need to stick with a standard cargo carrier like # e98874 or the bumper mounted # e96ZR to carry extra gear.

The 24x64 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper # e83YR and the 24x84 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper # e96ZR are both constructed of black powder coated steel which is durable and corrosion resistant. They both also have a simple bolt on installation. Using the carriers to carry your electric bikes can probably be done but there is no clear cut way to accomplish this. • Will the Folding RV Bumper Cargo Carrier Work If My Bumper Is Tight Against the Trailer?
Hello Randy, Thanks for writing in. Based on your description, I don't think the folding feature of the etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper # e96ZR is likely to work. When the carrier is folded into the upright position, it pivots very close to the bumper. If your 4-inch square bumper sits directly against the rear of the trailer with little to no clearance, the carrier may contact the trailer before it can fully fold up. Hey Kerry! The 24x84 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper # e96ZR can certainly carry two e-bikes. However, it will be up to you to secure them. If you have a hitch on the back, a bike rack like the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack # HLY64FR would be the better choice for your bikes. This works with motorhomes and 5th wheels but not travel trailers. If you have a travel trailer I recommend the Lets Go Aero V-Lectric VFR Bike Rack # LGA25VR instead.
